Rome implements automatic control of vehicle access restrictions in city centre core
Only residents and craft enterprises located in the area can still access the Tridente and must park in designated areas during the hours of the limited traffic zone operation (6.30-19.30 weekdays and 10-17.00 on Saturdays). Electric vehicles are exempt as are special category vehicles (emergency services, municipal vehicles, transport of medicine, etc).
Vehicles that are authorised to enter the Tridente must seek the required permit from the municipality. The zone is enforced by means of automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) cameras, which are located on the roads entering/exiting the zone.
Transport police and municipal staff have been on the ground since the launch and will remain there until the end of June to provide information and advice to drivers entering the Tridente area.
