Join the POLIS x TU/ecomotive event!

In just a few days, POLIS will host an exciting joint event with TU/ecomotive. What's on the table? The future of sustainable mobility, of course! And, to be more precise, TU/ecomotive's newest invention, Eterna, the car that lasts a lifetime. There is still time to register, so make sure to reserve your spot today!

On 15 September, the TU/ecomotive team will arrive at the POLIS Network office in Brussels to showcase Eterna, an electric car designed to last a lifetime. After the presentations, TU/ecomotive will stick around for a thrilling panel discussion on the topic of future mobility and innovation, joined by trailblazers from projects such as eCharge4Drivers and SCALE. Because Brussels will be the final stop of the TU/ecomotive team on their tour through Europe, there is no better time than now to come and learn about Eterna. Keep reading to find out more!

Eterna: Low impact meets high performance

Eterna is the newest project of TU/ecomotive, a team of around 30 students from the Eindhoven University of Technology. For years, the group has been busy developing sustainable and innovative concept cars, from Penny, ''the shell eco-marathon car'' (2013) to Lina, ''the car that nature would have built'' (2017), not to mention Isa, Nova, Luca, Noah, and Zem. Now, the time has come to welcome a newcomer to the scene: Eterna, ''the car that lasts a lifetime'' (2023).

The student team at TU/ecomotive with their newest invention: Eterna.

Eterna is not your standard electric vehicle: unlike other cars, it is designed in two parts. Its bottom half is made from durable materials that outlive the average car by decades while its upper half can be removed and swapped after 20 years, allowing drivers to upgrade the appearance of their vehicle without doubling their environmental impact. This new car remains a best-kept secret and a mystery in the automotive industry. But you are in luck: if you join POLIS and TU/ecomotive this Friday, you can see the car before it concludes its promotional tour through Europe!

''We wanted to build a car that outlives current cars.''

Stijn Plekkenpol, Team Manager at TU/ecomotive
