ASSURED wraps up successfully!
After four intense years of work, the ASSURED project has come to an end! On 21 March the Final Conference called 'Electric Fleets for Green Cities' took place at Autoworld in Brussels. On this occasion project partners, transport stakeholders and the European Commission participated in a hybrid event, allowing also remote people to join in.
The Plenary Session was held in the morning and concluded with a round-table of end-users. Operators TMB, Stadtwerke Osnabrück, EMT Madrid, and Vervoerregio Amsterdam joined the European Commission and Vrjie Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Together, they exchanged on ASSURED outcomes and looked ahead to the challenges still to overcome. In the afternoon, three parallel sessions covered topics related to the electric fleet upgrade. The focus of these sessions was threefold:
- Standardisation and interoperability of Electric Vehicle Charging
- Full electrification of shared charging infrastructure for urban electric fleets
- Optimisation of the simulation platform to ensure fleet modularity and upscaling
The ASSURED project aimed to promote the electrification of an urban public transport system by studying the potential standardisation of vehicles and charging stations. During the conference, partners stressed the importance of the innovations introduced by ASSURED. They reported a real fleet growth in five cities across Europe, for example. Therefore, a strong collaboration between stakeholders in this sector is necessary to make sure that the electrification of transport fleet is implemented smoothly and at full scale in our cities.
For those who could not attend the Conference, we have made the recording available here and the presentations here ! Enjoy.
