More EU budget for transport: Campaign leaflet

POLIS joins a group of 48 European transport organisations across the entire European mobility spectrum urging the Council and the European Parliament for a robust funding mechanism for transport in the upcoming review of the Multi-Annual Financial Framework.

The transport sector plays a pivotal role in addressing Europe's environmental challenges. Strengthening Europe's resilience, leading the shift to net-zero emissions, and completing the Trans-European Transport Network require concrete actions reflected in the new EU budget for transport.

The significant oversubscription of the current Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) transport budget highlights the high ambitions and challenges of the transport sector that are not adequately met with EU support. European leaders and policymakers must recognise this moment as an opportunity to reverse the trend of underfunding and aim for a higher standard.
