Polis supports the ongoing Stakeholders Consultation for the Urban Agenda for the EU - Call for contributions

The EU Urban Agenda is now asking stakeholders to assess the relevance of ita actions for the European, national and local level across its fourteen themes, ranging from digital transformation to air quality and urban mobility.

As a stakeholder in the Partnership for Urban Mobility, Polis took an active role, coordinating and drafting the action plan of the New Mobility Services Working Group and contributing to the general Partnership’s action plan.

Call for Stakeholder Consultation contributions

Within the frame of this consultation, the European Commission is inviting stakeholders to provide feedback to assess the implementation and performance of the Urban Agenda for the European Union (UAEU) since its launch via the Pact of Amsterdam in 2016.

Therefore, as the views of stakeholders are undeniably central for this assessment, The European Commission encourages them to reply and contribute to this consultation by completing the online survey that is already available at Open survey. In case of impossibility to use the online questionnaire, Ipsos -which is in charge with the survey - invites stakeholders to contact their team using the following email address: daan.bijwaard@ipsos.com.

All types of stakeholders are invited to contribute through the online questionnaire. This includes members of the general public, cities and urban authority representatives, other public authority representatives (international, EU, national and regional), as well as other stakeholders, including civil society organisations, NGOs, businesses, academic research organisations, and experts.

Objectives of the Stakeholder Consultation

The objective of the assessment is to explore possible ways to improve the Urban Agenda for the EU’s utility and effectiveness, thereby contributing to a shared understanding of the best ways to work with cities and support them in their development. More specifically, the objectives of the UAEU are to:

  • Provide evidence on how far the objectives of the UAEU have been attained;
  • Provide insight into the challenges, shortcomings, strengths and opportunities that have arisen throughout the implementation of the UAEU;
  • To gain understanding in the causes and factors of success or failure of the UAEU;
  • Examine the sustainability of results and impacts of the UAEU; and
  • Provide guidance and recommendations to make the UAEU more effective, efficient, relevant and coherent, and with an increased EU added value, in view of its future implementation.

How to answer to the online questionnaire

The online consultation will be open until Sunday 30 June. Depending on stakeholders' answers, the questionnaire will take about 10-30 minutes to be completed.

All interested stakeholders are invited to submit their responses in English.

For reasons of transparency, organisations and businesses taking part in public consultations like the Stakeholders Consultation are asked to register in the EU’s Transparency Register.
