Further implementation of Catalonia's new high quality bus network

Demand for intercity bus transport in Catalonia has risen by 57% in the past ten years. The regional bus network already comprised more than 700 lines with 53.1 million trips per year (2012). With 40 new lines, the expres.cat BRT network is expected to cover an impressive 40% of the total demand.

Last year's issue of the "Mobility Magazine" reported how the expres.cat will deliver such results. Meanwhile, an additional 5 bus lines have been implemented, leading to 15 expres cat. lines up and running. Ten of them link different cities with Barcelona, others connect with Tarragona, Girona and Lleida.
